Jasmine is one of the most confident and quirky actors at Aagaaz, who started doing theatre in 2012, because her father was interested in the art form. Currently, she acknowledges it as a medium that allowed her to recognize her own talent and potential.
She has Raavan Aaya, Duniya Sabki and Bhagi Hui Ladkiyan in the list of performances she has developed with Aagaaz.
She is quite interested in working with younger children, and wants to help them find their passion. She has also experienced drama facilitation while working with the students at DPS Srinagar and The Community Library Project.
At the moment, she is studying in 12th standard and likes to spend her time sketching, drawing and cooking.
Nagma is one of the younger powerhouses in the group. She has been acting since 2011 and loves singing, dancing, embroidery and of course-theatre. She expresses that theatre offers her a new world, that has a set of rules that are different from those in real life. This allows her to do the things, she would otherwise not be able to do. She has Raavan Aaya, Duniya Sabki and Bhagi Hui Ladkiyan in the list of performances sheJ has developed with Aagaaz.
She has also undertaken drama facilitation while working with the students at DPS Srinagar and The Community Library Project.She is giving her 10th standard board exams and is also trying to delve deep into facilitation, since she values the give and take relationship it creates.
Zainab is the chirpy member of the group, who has a wide range of interests. She enjoys theatre, singing, dancing, sketching, fashion, traveling and engaging with conversations around gender and sexuality. She has been acting since 2009, and looks at theatre as a free space that allows her to express her feelings and helps her navigate the world. She has Raavan Aaya, Duniya Sabki and Bhagi Hui Ladkiyan in the list of performances she has developed with Aagaaz. She has also undertaken drama facilitation while working with with the students at DPS Srinagar and The Community Library Project.She is currently in her last year of schooling and is keenly interested in engaging with facilitation, as she believes in the unifying power of creating spaces that nurture common experience
Aisha is always excited and proactive about trying new things. She has performed across cities as an actor in Raavan Aaya and Duniya Sabki. Her other interests include drawing, dancing and listening to music.
Nahid is an ever-inquisitive repertory member who is ready to take on anything. Honing her skills as an actor in Raavan Aaya and Duniya Sabki, she has performed in shows across many cities with a consistency unmatched. Always curious, she has also been facilitating sessions with young children for the Eco Club as part of the Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Initiative, keen on training as a theatre facilitator in the years to come.
Tuba is one of the youngest members of the Aagaaz repertory. She is extremely confident, multi-talented and one of our finest actors. She has also played the lead role in a short film named ‘Bakri’.Her journey with Duniya Sabki and Raavan Aaya have only enhanced her ability as an actor.
Aslam started doing theatre three years ago and worked at himself tremendously. His presence on stage has been valuable in both Duniya Sabki and Raavan Aaya. While acting remains one of his major interests, he is also a sportsperson and thoroughly enjoys playing rugby.
Jyoti is the newest member at Aagaaz, and has blended into the group quite beautifully. She has been an active member in Raavan Aaya, and has tried to build her own style of working over this short period of time. She is perpetually enthusiastic and ready to learn from her mistakes.
